My soap making process

I started making goat milk soap in 2013 when we bought twenty Oberhasli goats from another goat dairy. The focus was natural soap; plant based oils, essential oils and natural plant derived colorants. The business grew from soap making into other natural products, including body butters, facial oils, bug spray, salves and balms for aches, pains, cuts and scrapes, all 100% natural, with no artificial or synthetic ingredients. We believe that what goes on your skin goes into your skin, your largest organ. For this reason I was unwilling to compromise on using cheaper, but potentially harmful ingredients in any of the products, whether they be washed off, or left on.

Soap making starts with milk and lye, mixed together, slowly, and in a well ventilated room! I add the milk and lye solution to warmed oils, and mix together until trace is formed. Next I add the essential oils and colorants. Then the soap must be poured into soap molds. I allow the soap to sit in the molds for up to 24 hours, unmold, and cut the soap. Now the soap begins the long process of soap curing. After 6 weeks the soap is ready to sell.

We continue to be committed to quality, natural ingredients, and we hope that you will enjoy our products as much as we do.
